Personal Care

Our Personal Care service provides assistance with a ‘good morning’ start to the day, with help to get up, washed, showed or bathed, getting dressed and having breakfast.

Regular Routine

Our Personal Care service works around your regular routines and ensures that the support is tailored to your specific requirements, and provided via our fully trained support workers, delivering discreet and professional personal care in the way that promotes your independence, dignity, and safety.

The Midian Care Personal care service is available for daily tasks that you’re unable to do, such as bathing, showering, dressing, and toileting, all in the comfort of your own home.

Seeing a Familiar Face

We believe in the importance of seeing a familiar face on a regular basis when providing care, this is even more important when it comes to providing personal care.  Midian Care ensures that your care plan is tailored to your individual needs in order to allow you to achieve your end goals, especially with the increased physical interaction and potential for complexity when providing personal care.

Getting to Know You

At Midian Care we love getting to know you, your likes and dislikes, the hygiene or beauty products you like to use when designing your personal care plan.

Fully Trained Staff

All of our support workers are specially trained to provide personal care and will be respectful to your personal preferences and needs enabling your dignity and independence at all times.

The Support You Need

Our support workers are there to give you all of the support that you need, but somethings you may prefer to do yourself.  Your support worker will respect this and will try to encourage your independence and dignity in every way possible in order to achieve your own personal goal.

Designed Around You, Just For You

Like all forms of our care, your personal care will be planned and designed around your personal preferences, individual needs, and your daily routines.  If you want to bathe when you wake up or just before you go to bed your personal support worker will happily follow your schedule, allowing you to live the way that suits you.

Personal Care Services Include

Your support worker is able to fully support you with your bathing requirements.  They can assist you in getting in and out of the bath or shower safely, as well as washing and drying your hair and body if required.

Should you be able to bathe independently, they are able to sit with you and offer support when needed; giving you peace of mind that someone is there to ensure your safety.

Fastening buttons and zips, and tying shoelaces are simple processes to most, however, for many individuals, such things can become impossible and distressing tasks.

If you need help getting dressed and undressed, you can rely on our support workers to provide assistance to make things easier and more comfortable for you.

Food Preparation

As we get older, eating well and keeping our fluids topped up becomes even more important in ensuring we stay healthy and happy.  The experience of dining also plays a key part in helping us to maintain the quality of life.

Our support workers are keen to learn all about your unique dietary needs and favourite foods (as well as the foods you’re not so fond of) so they can ensure you always have a delicious meal to tempt you.

Our approach is designed to guide and assist older people in eating a nutrient-rich diet that promotes good health.  We can be there throughout the whole decision making, food shopping, meal preparation, and eating process if required.

Bed Routine

Our support workers are able to assist you in getting in and out of bed, at a time that suits you and your own routine.

We are able to support both your urinary and faecal continence whilst preserving your dignity and comfort.  Your support worker can help you to get to and from the toilet and, where required, will monitor your personal hygiene in order to ensure your health and comfort.  This can include changing catheter and stoma bags, incontinence pads and sheets, and help with bathing and changing clothing.

Our support workers can offer you assistance to ensure you are taking the right medicine at the right time.  We can prompt, remind, or give full support by administering medication.

Every member of our care team has received full training in medication through our award-winning training course.  All our carers are qualified and approved to prompt, assist, or administer medication.

We can help you arrange to have your prescribed medication put into a Monitored Dosage System by the pharmacist taking away the worry of organising or re-ordering medication, which reduces a lot of the stress.

When an appointment is required with a healthcare professional, Midian Care can support you with arranging your appointment and also accompany you to the appointment if required.

Arranging support for a loved one

Sometimes personal care can be quite an uncomfortable and demanding task for a close family member to carry out for a loved one, as it is a lot of responsibility, with some feeling awkward about a change in the relationship.

In these instances, it can be much easier to have a trained professional who is accustomed to supporting clients with personal care to come to your loved one’s house and step in.  Choosing a carer that your loved one is comfortable with is vital whether they are male, female, young, or old means that carer becomes a regular friendly face for your loved one to rely on whilst offering gentle encouragement and a little bit of extra support.
